  • 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 3/4 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 3/4 cup sweetened shredded coconut
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans
  • 2 ounces semisweet chocolate (chopped)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, mix melted butter with brown sugar until well combined. Let cool slightly.
  3. Add the egg and egg yolk to the mixture; stir until smooth. Mix in vanilla extract.
  4. Combine dry ingredients (flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, salt) into the wet mixture until just blended.
  5. Gently fold in shredded coconut, chopped pecans, and chopped chocolate.
  6. Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto prepared sheets, spacing them two inches apart.
  7. Bake for 8–12 minutes until edges are set but centers remain soft. Cool on sheets for five minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
