  • 1 1/2 cup cake flour (sifted)

  • 1/4 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 cup sour cream (room temp)
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 6 tbsp brown sugar
  • 5 tsp cinnamon
  • 8 oz cream cheese
  • 8 oz butter
  • 2 cups confectioners' sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a cupcake tin with liners.
  2. In a bowl, mix together oil, butter, and sugar until creamy. Add egg and vanilla; blend well.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk cake flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Gradually combine with the wet mixture while alternating with sour cream and milk until smooth.
  4. In another bowl, combine brown sugar and cinnamon for the swirl mixture.
  5. Fill each cupcake liner halfway with batter; sprinkle cinnamon swirl on top; add more batter until two-thirds full.
  6. Bake for about 16 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  7. For frosting: Beat cream cheese and butter until smooth; gradually mix in confectioners' sugar and vanilla until fluffy.
  8. Frost cooled cupcakes generously.
