  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 ½ teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ cup brown sugar, packed
  • ½ cup chopped pecans or walnuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and ground cinnamon.
  3. Add melted butter, eggs, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients; mix until just combined.
  4. In another bowl, mix brown sugar and ground cinnamon for the filling.
  5. Spread half the batter in the prepared pan and sprinkle with half of the cinnamon mixture. Layer with remaining batter and top with the rest of the cinnamon mixture; swirl gently with a knife.
  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
