  • 110 grams almond flour (sifted)
  • 200 grams powdered sugar (sifted)
  • 12 drops red food coloring
  • 113 grams unsalted butter
  • 180 grams powdered sugar
  • 60 grams salted caramel

Instructions

  1. Prepare the apple pie filling by sautéing butter with diced apples and cinnamon; stir in salted caramel and let cool.
  2. For the macaron shells, whisk egg whites until stiff peaks form; gently fold in sifted almond flour and powdered sugar before piping onto baking sheets.
  3. Let piped macarons rest until dry to the touch; bake at 150°C (300°F) for about 15 minutes.
  4. Make the buttercream by beating unsalted butter with powdered sugar and salted caramel until smooth.
