  • 1 lb broccoli (cut into bite-sized pieces)
  • 5 garlic cloves (minced)
  • 1 tablespoon light soy sauce
  • 1/2 cup low sodium chicken broth
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon toasted sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 tablespoon apple vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon white pepper

Instructions

  1. Marinate the beef with baking soda, vinegar, soy sauce, white pepper, water, and cornstarch for at least 15 minutes.
  2. Prepare the stir-fry sauce by whisking together oyster sauces, soy sauces, vinegar, sugar, chicken broth, and cornstarch.
  3. Blanch broccoli in boiling water for 1-2 minutes until bright green; drain and set aside.
  4. Heat oil in a wok or skillet over medium-high heat; sear marinated beef for about 30 seconds on each side until browned. Remove from pan.
  5. In the same pan, sauté garlic and ginger for about 30 seconds; add broccoli and cook for another minute. Return beef to the skillet along with stir-fry sauce and toss until heated through.
  6. Drizzle with sesame oil before serving over rice or noodles.
